Hope you are keeping out the winter chills with plenty of red wine & hearty food. That's what the Winter WineFest was all about. Thanks to all those that patronised this inaugural event & made it it a great success & a fun day.

On the 8th September we are taking part in a wine dinner with a difference at Alfred's Homestead, Warrandyte. Five Lovegrove wines will be available alongside 5 specially selected wines from Nillumbik Cellars for you to mix & match with the lovely spread put on by Alfred's Homestead. This a great way to discover food & wine matching in a beautiful relaxing environment with friends. You will be able to purchase wines at special prices on the night.

Please make sure you book for this inaugural dinner for what will surely be a thoroughly entertaining evening & help support local innovative businesses at the same time. The cost per person is fantastic value at $55 all inclusive. I will be there as will Bill from Alfred's.

If you missed our Bastille Day Lunch, we have another lunch (menu to be advised) on the 31st October. The theme this time will be Spring, which gives our chef Franck free reign to devise a suitable menu for this lovely time of the year.

The weekend before, it's time again for Open Cellars (16th & 18th October). For this Open Cellars we want to offer wine & food lovers something more than just a winetasting. We will have a tasting platter (Tastes of Spring Seasonal Palette) of scrummy small bites matched to a tasting of 5 selected wines. The sessions will be conducted by Louise & myself at 11.30am, 1pm & 2.30pm both days & cost just $12.50. You don't need to book unless you have a larger group - just be here a little in advance. Normal winetastings will also be available. In addition, we will have a small menu comprising Individual Spinach, Fetta & Sweet Potato or Goat Cheese, Eggplant & Rocket Pastry Tarts, Saucisson en Brioche, Chicken Tagine & Tiramisu for 2 - all just $12. Cap it off with a Caffe Latte from our new Rancillio machine!

In the meantime enjoy the quiet winter weekends, come in & try our new 2010 Sauvignon Blanc & 2009 Shiraz.
